Veterinary medicine is an important part of the public health system, contributing to the health of domestic and wild animals and to human health through the control of human-animal diseases.

Scientific publishing in veterinary medicine is an important means of sharing knowledge and new research between scientists and professionals in the field. Research areas in veterinary medicine include topics such as infectious diseases, to study diseases that can be transmitted between animals and humans, and public health, to study the impact of animal health and the environment on human health. It also includes nutrition and its effects on animal health and performance, surgery and the development of new techniques in this area, and preventive medicine and strategies to prevent disease in animals.

Nationally, we have noticed a lack of scientific journals, academic journals and major platforms for the dissemination of research and specialized studies in the veterinary field and given the large number of Algerian researchers and professionals in veterinary medicine and to provide means and tools to share their research results in order to develop practices and improve the health of animals and the health of society in general. An international journal specialized in veterinary medicine has been developed and launched, with the name ‘’Algerian International Veterinary Journal’’ embodying the state’s high policy and implementing the strategies of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to raise the visibility and ranking of the Algerian universities.
