This course, entitled: Arid and Semi-Arid Ecosystems, is designed for Master's students specializing in Biodiversity and Plant Physiology.
The knowledge acquired in this module will enable students to gain a precise understanding of the characteristics of steppe ecosystems in Algeria, with a particular focus on the Souk-Ahras region.
Through this course, students will learn to identify the main biotic and abiotic components of these ecosystems, understand the causes of their degradation—particularly anthropogenic factors—and recognize the importance of preserving this natural heritage.
Special attention will be given to the ecological, economic, and social value of steppe environments, as well as urgent conservation measures, supported by local case studies.
